FilmED Workshop was my most useful tool before going into a Bolt TV for my first year. I learned how to collaborate with new students and made some great new friends who I collaborate with in Bolt such as Gavin McCffrey, Canela Larrea, Maria Manrique, Kai Rodrigues, and Matt Clary. I learned how to operate the Varicam 35 camera. This included how to know when certain shots are overexposed, how to make sure every single shot is in focus, and how to tune the white balance to the right settings when both inside and outside. I also learned how to edit on Premiere and all the shortcuts to make the best videos. The craziest moment at Workshop was filming the Action Sequence. As you can see, my friend Kylie Westergaard is beating me up badly. The worst part is, she is actually hitting me although I said multiple times "Do Not Hit Me for Real!" Even worse is that she practices karate on the regular. To all the students who ask "Why should I give up two weeks of my summer to attend the summer workshop?" it is so worth it. You get to learn useful skills to help you out when making films. You also get to collaborate with new people from other schools, or even meet people from your own school whom you have never interacted with before.

Music Video:

I was mostly involved with the lighting in this music video. However, I also came up for the plot of this music video about the invisible girlfriend. I also carried equipment for my team from location to location throughout the venue.  I was also an actor for this video as well playing the boyfriend of another couple.

Action Sequence:

For the Action Sequence, I act as one of the main characters trying to take the muffin for himself. My character is a nunchuck wielding high school student who is also fluent in Japanese as seen by his subtitles in the sequence. I was mostly acting for the film, so I did not get to do any work behind the camera, although I did contribute to the story.

PSA:

I was the antagonist for this PSA, littering by refusing to through away my soda cup. Karma then gets the best of my as I trip over a water bottle. I helped to carry equipment from location to location and forming the story for this PSA, as well as creating the slogan at the end. I did also help Kai edit the video a bit. I did not do that much camera work though. I did however help to edit the draft with my partners Kai Rodrigues and Matt Clary.

Soundless:

Soundless was out Silent Film and our first project at FilmED Academy. I was the protagonist who was bullied by three girls and ignored by others until one girl shows compassion for my mistreatment. Watch the video to find out what it is all about. I helped to film the story and did not do much camera work since I was the main actor.
